This game is awesome! So much better then Pole Position!

First of all, to all of the people claiming their is a bug wherein you pass a car, but your position doesnt change ... its not a bug, its called lapping -- look it up. I really like this game and I like it even more that I got it for free. The one issue I have with it is that your opponents constantly try to block you when you try to pass them. This is EXTREMELY frustrating!!! Its even more frustrating when youve just used some NOS and your stupid opponent moves in front of you and you end pushing him forward and losing your boost!!!

The perfect homage to Gremlins Lotus and Top Gear series; 8 bit Rally is a worthy spiritual sequel, styled for peak nostalgia and playing great to boot. Impressive length and difficulty, simple but satisfying upgrade system; it all works just as a gamer from the 90s remembers it. Its worth noting the game is better than its score may indicate: many iTunes reviewers fail to grasp the concept of a racing game or what it means to lap an opponent. Lapping is not a glitch, racetracks loop around and its possible to drive fast enough to see cars still working on the previous lap. Thats just how things that are round work.

Love this game. Reminds me of my younger dayz trying to beat Lotus on the spectrum. Great work. 

This game is extremely fun but it is very difficult for novice racers. There are so many opponents that it is almost impossible to place. And if you cannot place you cannot earn money for car parts. This game needs a true novice class to keep new racers interested in playing the game.

Never in my life have I seen a car hit a bush and instead of plowing over casually coming to almost a complete stop. And also because of its horrible physics it makes this game immensely hard. Though, it is fun to play, which is why I didnt give this app 1 star.

Theres no reason for a dpad, up and down do nothing. Just make a left and right button and make them BIGGER. Id rather be playing the classic Outrun, but thisll have to do for now.

almost impossible to end in ist,2nd,3rd.too hard to play,to hard to earn money. please give us an easy level.

Immense game loving graphics its easy to get first place all the time has got all the upgrades but thats the one downer as soon as uve upgraded to the 3rd car u can not get any better which i think is a bit weak

PROS: -EXCELLENT soundtrack -Retro styled graphics -Responsive Controls -Very fast paced -Only 99 cents CONS -So many positions that its difficult to place -Bumping into ANYTHING(including other vehicles) will nearly stop you completely -Unable to replay old tracks(I havent beaten the game yet so Im not sure If that is unlockable or not, but I think that should be given to you from the get-go) CONCLUSION: Definitely worth the dollar price tag, but the lack of the ability to immediately replay old levels is what stops this from being a 5 star app.

incredible game, its hard but not too hard and runs perfectly. really addicting too :) but I wish there was more stuff to upgrade like downforce and stuff like that.

Love this game! There needs to be a sequel with more cars/upgrades....well, more of everything.

This game reminds me so much of Top Gear back on the Super Nintendo. That was the very first game to spark my interest in cars and racing and I just want to thank the developer for making this gem and hope theres a sequel.

Excellent game: simple, fun, easy play/hard win. Can tell playability was on the programmers mind. There isnt a phantom car bug—you are lapping the cars at the back of the pack. Since you passed them already, passing them again doesnt change your position.

Great fun 8 bit game, now If you could add multiplayer that would be absolutely splendid
